Independent U.S. distributors Vinegar Syndrome will release on Blu-ray director Herb Freed's Graduation Day (1981), starring Christopher George, Patch Mackenzie, Michael Pataki, Linnea Quigley, Vanna White, and E.J. Peaker. The release will be available for purchase on September 9th.
Synopsis: After the death of a high school track star during a race, a mysterious, fencing-mask wearing killer begins murdering her friends and teachers. Who could the killer be? Her disgruntled coach? Her angry sister? Her violent boyfriend? As the bodies pile up, a twisted mystery unfolds, slowly revealing itself as it moves towards its bloody climax.
One of the quintessential high school set slasher films of the early 80s, Vinegar Syndrome is bringing Graduation Day to Blu-ray, newly restored in 4K and presented in its original aspect ratio for the very first time!
4K seems to be the new standard for Vinegar Syndrome. It's amazing what they're able to afford for such obscure titles compared to other studios. Hell, even Runaway Nightmare looks incredible on blu ray, and i can't imagine EVER sitting through that one again
@ reece; I found out from another member here that VS also has another company that does scanning and restoration work. So they own a scanner and thats how they can do all these 4K transfers for there releases.
Anyway, can't wait for this bad boy, haven't seen it in sometime.
Horror fans, please sign our petition and help us get Wes Craven's Deadly Friend Director's cut released. Warner Bros, who owns the rights probably won't be interested in investing so much in a movie like this, so let's convince them sub license the movie to a company who would be willing to do all the work
