Paramount Home Media Distribution will release on Blu-ray directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly's comedy Kingpin (1996), starring Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid, Bill Murray, Vanessa Angel, and Chris Elliott. The release will be available for purchase on September 9th.
Roy Munson, a pro bowler who seems destined for greatness, or as close to greatness as a bowler can get. But after a run-in with angry competitors, Roy finds himself sadder, wiser and minus his bowling hand! Years later, he meets the naïve Ishmael and Amish bowling whiz. Together they set out for a million-dollar tournament in Reno, and along the way pick up Claudia, a sexy vixen with brains, attitude and really big...ideals. With her help, they make it to the tournament. But will Roy and Ishmael win the big match and score fame and fortune...or will all their hopes and dreams just go barreling down the gutter?
The KINGPIN Blu-ray includes the theatrical version of the film, plus an extended, R-rated cut with commentary by Bobby and Peter Farrelly*, and a brand new piece entitled "Kingpins: Extra Frames With The Farrelly Brothers" featuring new interviews with the directors as they revisit making the film, working with the stars, its theatrical debut and ultimate success on home video.
The Kingpin Blu-ray will be presented in 1080p high definition with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, French 2.0 Dolby Digital and Spanish 2.0 Dolby Digital, as well as English, English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles.
A beautiful cover from Paramount!! Original artwork, no endless and needless critic quotes, and classy outline of the cover. If I could complain, the image is undoubtedly photoshopped, but I can't complain too much.
