at least it wont be a digibook "coffee table" edition. Glad to see WB giving another digital copy. However, WTF is wrong with them in giving only a DD audio track?!?!?!?!?! Have they not learned yet? When will they learn that ALL titles should have a HD track no matter what!!!!!!!
Risky Business is a great movie from its time. You guys have to remember the source is Stereo and the film was all front centric any way you won't notice a difference. Fans of the film know this and won't care.
every reissiue will be years later a NEW REISSIE (films before DVD story - 1993-5) SO most studio do as 1st release only picture as HD after years a new reissue as WITH HD SOUND !!! so 1 film 2 money as UNIVERSAL do as after HDdvd's death like TOP GUN, BATMAN BEGINS ... !!!
I read the first paragraph and knew that just about everybody that posted (if not everybody) would HATE this movie release worse than jury duty multiplied by brussel sprouts! Whatever. I will be picking this up for my wife to replace the VHS tape I donated! Yay WB!
No lossless = no purchase. All of the other studios "get it" except Warner. It is just absurd that they are still doing Dolby Digital without a lossless track. I stopped buying anything Warner with lossy-only a while ago.
This is not a documentary....it has JETS and MOTORCYCLES and POP TUNES from the era. This film begs for, and deserves a HiDef audio track. How could they make this decision for THIS movie? Really really lame....makes ZERO sense. I cant do lossless, and this film is far from a "must own" for me, but I can see how fans would (and should) be pissed off. WB execs are stepping on their own d!cks here.
Well I never buy Warner films online because you dont know what comes with lossless and what doesnt with them!!!
Its really not a 25th anniversary deluxe edition without it. Wasnt it a while back that Warner announced on here that they would be concentrating on lossless audio from early June because hd dvd was no longer. High definition picture is not enough on its own to warrant purchasing blu ray.
Warner are fast becoming the "I cant be bothered with effort" studio. Considering they put an end to the high def war, I really am surprised by their attitude.
First the AN AMERICAN GIGI fiasco. and now this. No lossless audio. I remember
buying this on beta because it was an early beta hifi tape. The classic soundtrack by
Tangerine Dream, Bob Seger and Phil Collins, all icons of the 80's, deserve much,
much better. Very disappointed!!!!!!
Wow... Demornay is sexy, but I won't bother buying it unless it's used. No lossless audio. Gotta give me reason to purchase an older movie where the video is less than stellar. Gotta have better audio.
Never seen it, but would have still considered adding this to my collection if it had lossless. No sale for me. Guess I'll rent it to see if I'll one day purchase the doubledip
how is it even Universal understands that we want lossless, but Warner still hasn't gotten it through their thick skulls
I have just finished counting the number of people in the world that are pissed off at the lack of lossless audio in Warner's Blu-ray release of Risky Business. 17 is the total.
