The thing will be a blind buy for me. Now all we need is the Exorcist and Amityville Horror

Where are all the extras that were previously included on the HD DVD releases? It looks like I will be forced to keep my SD DVD versions if I don't want to lose any content. Shame on you Universal but you did do right by including lossless audio on all three. Pay attention Warner!

The Thing is a must have!!! Looking forward to all the old Carpenter blu-ray's (They Live, Escape From NY, etc.).

Kind of an odd selection of titles for a box-set...

I'd normally be very excited about the release of The Thing but if that spec list is final, it's missing most of the extras found on the DVD & HD-DVD, in particular a fantastic 80 minute documentary. Not good enough, Universal.

Didn't care much for the Dawn remake, and the lack of extras is gonna put The Thing on the backburner. I might spring for the Land BD, but if Land is indeed gonna be on a BD25 then I may just hold off on this as well. Almost makes me feel that Universal simply ported over the HD-DVD version to BD, and that an eventual re-release of all 3 movies with more extras and/or higher video bitrate on a BD50 is probably somewhere in the future. Thanks, I'm tired of the double dipping and I'm not as impatient as I used to be to where I have to pick something up the day it comes out. Thankfully, I've got the DVD versions of all three films. But this is a good addition to the BD horror library for sure

Land was a combo release on HD-DVD, and one that was a single layer 15g, so there will be increased bandwith even on a BD-25. Not condoning this practice, but it will certainly be better, even just for the upgrade in audio.
