Hitachi Brings Blu-ray Camcorder to US

Hitachi has announced that they will bring their latest Blu-ray camcorder, the DZ-BD10HA, to the US this September, only a month after it gets released in Japan. The camcorder, which is identical to the Japanese variant previously announced, can record on either an 8cm Blu-ray Drive, an internal 30GB hard drive, or SDHC card. Hitachi has set MSRP at $999.

Damn that's cheap. and with a Internal HD, that's a steal! I wanna know what lens it has, Optical Zoom and Digital Zoom, too.

Wow! I'm assuming this video will be recorded at 1080p? I wonder if the 8cm Blu-ray drive is on rewritable media or write once recordable media. SDHC rewritable media is drastically going down in prices.

The last version had a 5mpx photo-mode, and a 10x optical zoom lens. Don't know what manufacterer the lens was, but I guess it was okay. I like Hitachi (atleast most of it). They think outside of the box.
