Today marks the beginning of the fourth quarter in retail sales, a time where manufacturers, content providers, and retailers join together in order to provide the largest variety of titles and hardware in anticipation of the holiday gift-buying season. How appropriate it is that the today also marks the Blu-ray release one of the biggest titles this summer - 'Iron Man' - to launch it off.
Over the past month, Paramount has revived their high definition offerings, becoming a producer of some of the best Blu-ray titles available. 'Transformers' and 'The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration' have quickly become fan-favorites, their release of 'Iron Man' is to be no exception. As Blu-ray.com Reviewer Greg Maltz points out in his review, "Iron Man is the best two-disc package available on Blu-ray". This is a release that should not be missed.
Also coming out today, Universal is releasing two more three-disc collections of popular catalog titles. The 'Ultimate Unrated Comedy Collection' features 'The 40 Year Old Virgin', 'Knocked Up', and 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall', which are also available to purchase individually. 'The 40 Year Old Virgin' will always hold a special place in my collection, as one of the funniest, and most quotable movies I've ever seen.
Marking the beginning of the Halloween horror-fest, they are also releasing the 'Halloween Starter Pack' which includes 'Land of the Dead', 'Dawn of the Dead', and 'The Thing' (also available individually). For more horror fun, Disney is releasing M. Night Shyamalan's 'The Sixth Sense'. Next week sees the release of many horror classics as well as the highly anticipated release of Disney's first Platinum Blu-ray release 'Sleeping Beauty'.

I got Iron man. Begining now I have at least 1 movie every week coming from amazon. And will probably pick up a few more. There have been some good sales.
iron Man is on the way for me. Nothing else for me. Still comtemplating dropping $90 for The Matrix Trilogy in a couple weeks. Haven't even picked up my Kill Bills yet. Hope nobody's expecting X-mas gifts from me this year.
I picked up Iron Man and the comedy trio. I am waiting for the reviews before I buy The Sixth Sense. Overall, this has been a good month with respect to BD releases.
I just received my order of iron man , dawn of the dead remake and land of the dead from amazon. is anyone else's iron man special features disc cover gray?
I got Iron Man, and Dare Devil, but there is soooooooo much more I want to get. Oh well I can wait, and will have to My wife and I do not buy any movies for ourselves between now and Christmas, (We each get 1 we can buy in that time this year mine is BoB on BD) this way we can get gifts for each other without the danger of buying something we may pick up. This is the worst time of the year for me, all the waiting....counting down the days to Christmas....just 86 more days and counting....
today is a great day im only buy IRON MAN blu ray edition in WAL MART for only $25
and now im watching the movie.
next week buy ZOHAN and THE HAPPENING.
I picked up IronMan the minute it came out. Also the Ultimate Comedy Collection and finally The Godfather Collection! Big day for Blu-ray. I need a second job to keep up with this 4th quarter.
Ohayoo, (Good Morning)
I picked up the 'Target' verison of "Iron Man" on Blu-ray (which has the cool 'Mask Case') that was advertised as having 'additonal footage' that the standard 'keep case' version (suposedly) does not. The only problem is, it's not clear what footage (movie or bonus/extras?) is 'exclusive'. Previous "exclusive" DVD and Blu-rays I have bought at specific B&M stores usually have diiferent packaging (that clearly states what the exclusive extras are) and an extra disc containing the 'exclusive bonus footage', but this one does not spell out what is 'exclusive' about it (besides the special case) and there is no extra 3rd disc!
Does anyone know anything about this? Was this a misprint, or are there extras on the 2nd disc that are different from the regular verison (mine is grey, and has 156 min 'run-time' printed on the disc)? If anyone has info on this, please post it. (Oh, and the 1st disc is blue, with 125 min 'run-time' printed on it.)
Arigato Gozaimashita, (thanks in advance)
