Bandai Visual to Bring Tales of the Abyss to Blu-ray

Posted October 15, 2008 09:19 AM by Josh Dreuth

Bandai VisualBandai Visual has announced that they will bring the anime 'Tales of the Abyss' to Blu-ray on February 20th in Japan, day-and-date with the DVD release. Little is known about this release, though we have been told that it will feature 1080p video accompanied by a 2.0 PCM soundtrack. Expect a similar release for the US around that same time.

Penthouse: its an anime based off one of those Tales of RPG series video games that was on the Playstation 2 platform which by the way was an awesome video game and I cant wait for this to come out to Blu-ray in America but this is Bandai Visual we are talking about so its probably going to be pretty pricy

Tales of the Abyss is loosely based on the video game with the same name. The anime is okay but nothing special. Please Bandai give us your hits first! I WANT MACROSS FRONTIER!!!

It's ok to see more anime on bluray, I'd like to hear more about this movie before thinking of buying it. like Kevtronn said it would be EXCELLENT to see MACROSS FRONTIER in bluray. it would be like having the lord of the rings or matrix but in the world of anime.

and let's not forget that they're packaging it up with a spiffy 2.0 soundtrack! Can't wait to see the price on this one.

Its nice to hear of all these anime HD releases but what about classics like 'CowBoy Bebop'? It would be perfect BluRay material being shot on 35mm cel. I mean ok granted the gate scenes would look abit crap but thats about it! Come on bring Bebop to the HD scene!
