Yeah! Just in time for the Super Bowl. =) I think I'm the only one here who really likes this film. If it doesn't have a TrueHD track or similar (PCM, DTS-MA) consider me OUT!

Heck yes! January is looking awesome. Along with Boondock Saints and This is Spinal Tap 3 of my favorites are coming out. A Pacino football movie. How can you not like that?

I tried watching once and didn't like it. Maybe I'd forgotten my meds or had too much dealings with
prudes that day to enjoy it. I'll netflix it

My only complaint about this film (at least I think it's this film) was the fake teams. Other than that it was awesome... Oh, and the score that was written but not used. Still awesome though!

By the way, it's Dolby TrueHD, not Tru HD Digital.

"Warner Bros. film: "LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA". There was no mention of it being a BLACK & WHITE FILM. If there had I'd of purchased a regular DVD for half the cost and upconverted the movie on my Sony BDP-300, and viewed it in 1080i! WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO WATCH A B & W FLICK IN THIS DAY AND AGE OF VIVID COLORS? "

You realize Blu-ray adds detail, right? Not just colors? And isn't Letters from Iwo Jima more of a faded sepia-ish look, not B&W? And the reason I would view a movie in B&W is because it's made that way. Like The Mist, I watch the B&W version instead of the color version because the Director prefers that version and since it's his film, I will go with what he wants. Which is the reason films are made in B&W, because the director wants them that way. Plus, 1080i, is not the same as 1080/24p.

Also, when you buy a film, do you look and see if the box says "color" on it? Why would they put "Black and White" on a Blu-Ray if they're not labeling the ones in color?

The redeeming thing about this blu-ray is the soundtrack. It better have TrueHD or DTS-MA, or I won't purchase it in a million years.

YES! Finally a BD worth buying that's not Zombie Strippers, Mad Money or Disaster Movie. Now Warner don't cheapen out and please give us a TrueHD track!

It's interesting that all of these details have been released, but still no info about audio. Why be so secretive? Unless....
