Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the two avian-inspired films 'Winged Migration' and 'Fly Away Home' to Blu-ray on April 7th. 'Winged Migration' was initially announced to retailers some time ago, but this time it gets an official date. Both films will be presented in 1080p AVC accompanied by 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtracks.
I've been waiting for Winged Migration since the day it was officially announced. At the time of its theatrical release, I believe it became the 3rd highest grossing documentary of all time (behind Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine). Of late, I think it has been surpassed by March of the Penguins for an avian documentary.
Beautiful birds of all kind flying and Ex Soft Machine's drummer Robert Wyatt(awesome one of a kind voice) singing the opening song,Winged Migration is a keeper,remember this is a few years before "Morgan Freeman and the Penguins"
