Season One of CSI Coming to Blu-ray

Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: The First Season' to Blu-ray on May 12th. This highly popular television series, currently in its ninth season, has spawned numerous spin-offs and garnished a loyal fan base. Technical specs have yet to be announced, though early indication is that this release will receive a 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Special features have also not been announced at this time.

I think I paid....like...$96.00 for season 1 on DvD when it came out. Yeah....ouch. Can't afford to double dip that one on general principle.

i am a fan of csi but not worth Gething the blu-ray when u got the dvd BUT if there were to release latest season such has 7-8 and soo on that would be cool its not a kind of show u watch over and over u know who bad u dont want to see it again lol

I don't necessarily see this as the start of a new trend, as much as people would like to hope it is. After all, CSI has been one of the top money- making franchises for CBS, so they can afford to go back and do this and see how it pans out. However, other shows that haven't been as popular for the station will probably not see Paramount going back in time 8 years to start re-releasing a current-running show. If HBO could do this for the Sopranos, however, you might have people that would be willing to purchase the entire series on BD. I have a feeling it would cost upwards of $300, though, based on the pricing they used for Season 6 on BD, and the pricing on the entire series set.

YES! Yeah I borrowed CSI: Season One from my best friend Sara recently but didn't have the time to finish more than the first 3 or 4 episodes. That's not so bad. I've only watched he original sporadically. I've seen more of CSI: NY and I HATE Miami. No offense to those who love it. yeah I'll buy this if it's in the 60 range but only if they do an anamorphic widescreen transfer instead of the 4:3 release of the original.
