Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the Ashton Kutcher and Michelle Pfeiffer film 'Personal Effects' to Blu-ray on May 12th, day-and-date with the DVD release. The direct-to-video film will be presented in 1080p VC-1 accompanied by a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.
The lone extra will be a behind-the-scenes featurette.
I'll forever love Michelle Pfeiffer (my #1 favorite actress) in any movie she's in, and I'm sure that Personal Effects will be no exception. Day one purchase.
Kutcher did a good job in the movie The Butterfly Effect. That being said, it's usually not a good sign of quality when any movie goes "straight to video".
Straight to video (or BD in this case) can be a very smart money move for the production company in some instances. If its a low budget film, they can make more money going straight to disc rather than a limited or full release.
