About damn time!!! I've been waiting for Children of Men since the format war ended. Only saw it
once in theaters and vowed not to watch again until it hit Blu. A rare day one purchase for me.
Field of Dreams on Blu-Ray is OUTSTANDING news! I kept seeing the promo running at Best Buy with the "coming soon to Blu-Ray" since late last year so I am glad it is coming out and will coincide with the film's 20th anniversary this year. My favorite film of all time, it will be great watching it in glorious 1080p with my autographed original movie poster by Costner right above my couch. I even got in a bidder war for the baseball he throws with his dad at the end of the film when it went up for auction a few years ago, but once it past $10,000, I had to bail out.
Children of Men is a day 1 buy for me.
Apparently Universal's release of Cinderella Man is almost identical to Disney's release available since two years ago, the only difference I notice are the audio commentaries and a couple of new featurettes. Disney provided an excellent PCM audio track and the PQ was very good as well. Probably Universal will use the same master. For those who never bought Cinderella Man "import" don't hesitate and get Universal's edition, for those who already have Disney's BD I don't see any reason to get the new edition unless you really wanna listen the audio commentaries.
About Field of Dreams, it's a good movie but I think I'll pass for the moment on that one.
Yeah, I'm in for 'Children of Men', for sure even though I got the DVD as a gift (I hate discarding gifts).
But the real treasure for me is 'Field of Dreams'. That was one of the first four DVDs I purchased back in 1998 (FoD, Batman, Gone With the Wind, and Contact), and I still have that copy. Time to upgrade for sure.
Speaking of 'Contact', I am seriously begging Warner Bros. to do SOMETHING with that movie. Over ten years without an update for that film, yet WB has redone '2001' at least three times in that span. Come on, already. It's a great movie.
OK titles, but where is "Shaun of the dead"....i've been waiting for it from the good old days of the format war....when the war ended i saw hope in the future, but i'm still waiting
COME ON UNIVERSAL...bring us "SHAUN OF THE DEAD"
