The Towering Inferno Blu-ray Gets Detailed

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced the technical specs and special features for the upcoming Blu-ray release of 'The Towering Inferno', which is due to hit store shelves on July 14. Coming on a BD-50, video will be presented in 2.40:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.
This BD contains a plethora of special features. The full list follows:
- Commentary by F.X. Feeney, film historian
- Scene-specific commentary by Mike Vezina, special effects director on 'X3'
- Scene-specific commentary by Branko Racki, stunt coordinator on 'The Day After Tomorrow'
- 32 extended and deleted scenes

I'm with you Robert. I will upgrade as well. I love the 70's "disaster" movies with all star casts!
Let's hope the Poseidon Adventure, Airport, Airport 75, Earthquake & The Swarm have a future on Blu also  |

This is great news, Fox! You've managed to port all the extras from the 2-disc DVD of The Towering Inferno onto the Blu-ray! You're already becoming my favorite studio because of this! Day one purchase!! |

Fox should have released BOTH Towering Inferno and The Posiedon Adventure at the same time,just like they did w/ the standard DVD's! |

Perhaps the studio is still searching for Poseidons stereo track. It would be great to get the film with surrounds rather than the mono sound that had been put out since the laser disc, which I believe had simulated surround sound. |
