This was a rather weak (aka "soft" looking) title in the HD-DVD days. Hope it ends up being re-done for blu. (And skip the DNR, thank you very much.)

I believe the way the HD DVD looked is the way the director wanted it to look.

This film was the very first laserdisc that I bought, and I never got around to buying it on DVD. The Blu-ray can't be anything but an upgrade over laserdisc.

It's about time for a Blu-Ray release of one of his other movies, "Brazil". Come on, Criterion!

It will probably be re-encoded at a higher bit rate and hopefully NO DNR added.

I'm certainly in for more Terry Gilliam, but I'm happy with this for now. First day pick-up for me, that's for sure.

Gilliam used a fresnel lense which gives the film a very soft and not sharp look. So it's probably not going to look that much better than the current DVD release. I picked up the DVD for only $5

Juan I don't mean to be picky but in your piece you stated that this title was coming out "next July" This is a bit misleading as July 2009 is in fact 'this year', next year is 2010. Just wanted to clear up any possible confusion this may have caused. Don't mean to cause offence, its just the English teacher in me.

random thing about this movie that I thought was cool was the way the woman says "advertisment". Anyone remember what I'm talking about?
