The UK branch of Warner Home Video has sent to retailers the first details for the catalog titles the studio is set to release on Blu-ray in October and November. There are many interesting titles in the list: some were already announced in the US (e.g., 'Contact'), and others were only rumored (e.g., 'Heat') while others belong to another studio in the US (e.g., 'Dances with Wolves').
"Oh wait, these are British." -- Well yeah, I think saying "UK" in the title, saying "UK" right at the beginning of the text and the Union Jack at the bottom are dead giveaways.
There has been no official announcement but it seems that it'll be a "normal" edition, just like the UK release of Woodstock was. From the information on various sites, it'll be a three-disc edition (2 BDs and one DVD).
Insiders are saying that the amzing picture quality of Gone With the Wind on Blu Ray will equal the sound clarity of Sgt. Pepper's Lonley Heart's Club Band when it came out on cd. Those of us who remember Sgt Pepper coming out on CD in 1987 will understand the impact that had on the CD market.
Ah Heat, one of my favourite movies
I have the DVD and during the bank shootout, the bullets sound so loud and real.
i think the TrueHD soundtrack on the blu-ray during that particular scene will have me duckin behind the couch lol
Oh well. I can wait. The longer they take just means they are doing a good job with it. So take as long as you want Warner! I would hate see you screw up The Green Mile in any way.
