I'll be getting the individual First Contact only. I have the original crew boxset of the six first films so this will be a great addition!

Well it finally looks like I can remove the remaining Star Trek DVD's from my movie case. This is a day one purchase for me.

The release date of these kind of puzzles me. I sure thought they would launch in November with the new movie. Wonder if we can expect that "complete" movie collection in November that has been noted a few times now.

Check out the run time on the stand alone Trek IV Blu --- 238min. Mistake or director's cut?

I am wondering why no ST:III separate, it goes in hand with ST:II & ST:IV.

Guydowood: I just rechecked the press release, and it does indeed state a runtime of 3 hours and 58 minutes.

I actually enjoyed Insurrection a lot better than Nemesis, but nevertheless I'll be buying the
collection on day one.

So no 7.1 for these then. That's too bad. The bonus disc sounds great though.

I've got a real soft spot for this cast. Loved the show. Like The X-Files, I really wish this series had run during the HD era.

Fett: all played in digital 5.1 so no remixing is necessary to punch them up to "contemporary" standards.

Guydowood, they have painstakingly added 100 extra minutes of whale footage!

I'm going to get all. The only question is when and for how much. First Contact is the best, but I can wait for a deal. Eventually someone on here will post a great deal for each of these movies.

is that of George & Gracie or the Cast...lol

It will be interesting to see that this will actually consist off. I recall the original Laserdisc release of IV was a director's cut, but don't recall what other footage was chopped. Perhaps the pre-sequence opening that was used in Europe that showed clips from Part's II & III has been added back in. and it is odd not to release III seperately.....

Definetly getting this set on first day, Nemisis is the only one i'd say i don't love, but insurection, FC and generations are great movies (yes i love insurrection, take that haters!)

wish they had announced these later, September is going to be wallet suicide

Am I the only one who actually enjoyed "Nemesis"? I always though "Insurrection" was the weakest entry in this series.

I'd rate them:
1. First Contact
2. Nemesis
3. Generations
4. Insurrection

So I'm confused. Why are people here discussing run times of IV and asking about III as though they are part of this set? Am I missing something?

Also, Audioquest, your ranking is correct.

I have all of these movies on standard DVD and they have an awsome kickass DTS sound track on them, I wouldn't waste my money on the crappy True HD version, As we all know Paramount aren't very good when it come to Blu-ray sound, For Gods sake they didn't even bother to put a 7.1 track on these titles, Shame on you Paramount your hopeless.

First Contact is very good. The rest are mediocre, though I'm expecting Generations to have great PQ just from the PQ of thhe original material. The true stinker for me is Nemesis.
