While Microsoft may be holding back on Blu-ray for their Xbox 360 video game system, they will allow a new seven part anime series based on the popular Xbox-exclusive game Halo to be released on the high definition format. 'Halo Legends', which is currently being worked for a 2010 release, will feature seven short anime films based in the Halo universe.
In a move that will invoke comparisons to 'The Animatrix', Microsoft has enlisted the help from popular anime studios Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio4 C, and Toei Animation to produce the content. The shorts will first be previewed on Xbox Live, with a Blu-ray and DVD release through Warner Brothers soon after.
Funny. But I suppose its the logical step with Blu-ray being the best way to enjoy the movies. Maybe MS will now start supporting Blu more openly.
As far as the Halo films go, yeah, gonna have to see more about it. Nothing against Halo, but any FPS translated to film automatically raises my eyebrows.
I wish I had the link to show you guys, but I saw some funny youtube videos from a girl player who would kick the crap out of this guy and then get hate mail and voice messages from him (apparently you can do that with xbox)
The game videos are crazy; she pwns the guy, like, 17times in about 8 minutes with no cuts in the video.
What if an Xbox 360 fan wants to purchase this Blu-ray, but they only have Xbox 360 and no blu-ray player? I personally am going to pick this up on day 1 just to tease my brother and my cousin!
Sweet....The story has great potential...And Starscream, hard to call a game the most overrated
when it has billions of online multiplayer hours, obviously it's not just the critics who like Halo...
Though the maps for Halo 3 kinda suck, they need to release the original ones..
anime?! I was hoping for Live Action Film. on youtube there was a video of some guys in full Halo Costume's! I thought the film was going to be with real people in costume fighting CGI bad guys.
I'd much rather see the entire Red vs. Blue series released on BD, even though there isn't much resolution to be gained from doing it, and the entire series could fit on one BD-25.
I love anime but if it has anything to do with Halo then no freaking way will I ever buy it. Hopefully this gets people to buy more PS3's to watch this on Blu-ray but I guess that's kind of impossible with how some of them react to the PS3 and then they wonder why PS3 owners diss the 360.
