Not sure how much of this is new and how much is just recycled from the special edition DVD, but this is a must buy for me either way
If that chocolate box gift set actually comes with chocolates, it may be the most delicious Bluray ever |

Finally!
Forrest Gump in DTS as it was theatrically intended.
Forrest Gump in English DTS is also a first in the history of the film on any home video format.

I'm a bit suprised thath FORREST GUMP will be DTSMA. I really thought that codec would be a one-time use but it seems they are using it on several releases. |

Day One purchase! It releases on my 22nd birthday! I can't wait! Oh, so does "Heat"! And the new "V" premieres on TV! Maybe I'll tell friends we'll celebrate on the weekend and have a night to myself... LOL.
I watched Forrest Gump in HD on ABC about 3-4 years ago (only because they were smart enough to keep in in 2:35:1 ratio unlike other networks who crop it, even in HD) and I have to tell you, the detail and the color were beautiful |

I still think that two other movies during the year 1994 deserved the Oscar for best picture than Forrest Gump. Those two movies are Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" starring John Tavolta & Samuel L. Jackson. The other movie is "The Shawshank Redemption starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. Forrest Gump is #3 on my list for that year.
Also, can't wait for the Movie "Heat" to arrive on the same day. |

I don't like the non-descript reference to "Archival Special Features." Is that an umbrella term indicating that features from the SCE DVD not explicitly bullet pointed in the press materials (the sound and production design featurettes, "The Magic Of Makeup" and the "Through the Eyes Of FORREST GUMP" docu) are all really on here?
That vagueness will make a thorough review even more important for those who care about supps getting ported forward from the DVD. |
