Aeon Flux Animated Miniseries Coming to Blu-ray

Our friends at TV Shows on DVD have the scoop that Amazon has the exclusive for a Blu-ray edition of Aeon Flux: The Complete Animated Collection', with a release date of November 23. Note this is the original, enigmatic and pruriently decadent MTV animated sci-fi/action series, not the Charlize Theron live-action movie. No information on disc details or special features is available.

Cool. The live action movie was ok, I liked it a little more after the 2nd viewing but it can't come close to the animated series. I might upgrade at some point.

It had better not be in widescreen. Aeon Flux is 4:3, same as just about every TV show before 5-6 years ago.

Agreed, kernunrex. I think it's better to hope is that the cel work would actually be re-scanned in HD.

I sincerely hope this has lossless audio -- I have pre-ordered, but will return the disc if it has some horrible Dolby Digital tracks. I don't expect a new surround mix, but I do at least expect lossless stereo. I hope this is just a pre-cursor to a Liquid Television: The Complete Series blu-ray release. I know that some of the material was only delivered on beta tapes, but it would be worth it to me to get it ALL in one shot, with lossless audio and commentaries. I absolutely cannot wait to watch all the Winter Steele episodes, in order, with and without commentaries!
