The Hurt Locker Blu-ray in January

Summit Entertainment has announced that it will release Kathryn Bigelow's 'The Hurt Locker' on Blu-ray on January 12, 2010, day-and date with the DVD. This war film, which follows an army explosive ordnance disposal unit during its tour of duty in Iraq in 2004, received critical acclaim and awards when it was presented at film festivals, including Venice and Toronto.
Special features include:
- Audio commentary with director Kathryn Bigelow and writer Mark Boal
- The Hurt Locker: behind the scenes
- Image gallery

I really didn't think this movie was all that great to be honest. Sorta interesting to watch I guess... but overall don't need to see it again. |

I agree with Rhylliam - the first half was amazing, but the second half falls apart, and that chase through the dark seemed rather tacked-on. Still, I'll probably pick this up because the acting was all-around excellent. |

This film is amazing! There was a leaked Blu-ray copy online and looked like 4.5/5 video quality and audio so I am assuming the real deal will look awesome! |

This movie has almost no soundtrack, just a really subtle score, but that is something that works for it. It is not a typical war movie at all, but it is certainly one of my favorites. |

I liked the movie but, due to some rather weak plot/story elements, I can't really give it a fawning review. I do think most people should like The Hurt Locker, but I urge everyone to temper their expectations because if they're too high you are going to be disappointed. |
