UFC Ultimate 100 Greatest Fights Announced

Anchor Bay Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring 'UFC: Ultimate 100 Greatest Fights' to Blu-ray on December 8th, one month after the DVD release. This six-disc set will feature over 25 hours of UFC fights in 1080p AVC video accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack. No special features have been announced at this time.

it is in an upcoming best buy ad for $54.99, stating that it is a best buy exclusive http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=120570 i was wondering if it was the full fights or not (unlike the spike TV special "ultimate 100" which just showed highlights). i was thinking it would have to be the full fights because of the price... and since you've confirmed it i will definitely be picking this up!

now is this set going to be released on blu next Tuesday at best buy, i'm confused due to the ad saying bluray for an awesome price but they're site says it doesn't come out until December or is this another possible best buy bluray exclusive

I pre-ordered from Best Buy this last week (on the pre-order it said it was to be released on 12-08) and just got an email today saying that the date has been moved to 11-10. I double checked to make sure this was the Blu-Ray as that is what I ordered and it is. I don't know if I'm going to get mine early or they just screwed up. I guess we'll see.

my guess is that best buy has it exclusively earlier than other retailers (similar to what they had w/children of the corn).

Unless you have little to no UFC shows on DVD, I would skip this. You can buy region 0 DVD's of almost all past shows at good prices, but a lot of those shows have nothing to offer anyways. There is only a handful of fights from the first 6 or so years that are important enough to watch, and none of them are on this set.

it is going to be $55 for the top 100 fights @ best buy in the very near future (99% of which will never have been released on blu ray previously)... that is the cost of 1 pay-per-view.. or about 2-3 regular UFC releases on blu ray... seems like quite a good deal

Yeah, I'm a huge MMA fan and the only UFC dvd I have was UFC Best of 2008 which I got for free with the purchase of Undisputed. Looking forward to having all these fights. Hopefully they all have a little buildup video for each fight and don't just go right to the fights.

preordered mine for in-store pickup @ BB... it is $79 on there now, but their preorder FAQ says you will get the best deal. hopefully they update the release date / price to reflect the ad

hey use netflix and copy the dvd's / guess what you get every single UFC event or special knockouts that you want / i have every single UFC event since UFC 40 / these type of "best of " dvd's always leave out great fights / they need all highlights / alot of fights have great hits,takedowns,submissions,unusual moves that don't end the fight but none the less are awesome to see / of course it's not blu ray which may make it a deal breaker for some
