Rumor: BD-exclusive Content for Alien Anthology

Our friends at The Digital Bits have confirmed with "studio and industry sources" that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will release the 'Alien' anthology on Blu-ray during 2010, so it seems that the studio would not wait for Ridley Scott's future reboot/prequel. Reportedly, this set will include all four films in the series, all of the bonus content from the 'Alien Quadrilogy' DVD box set bonus content and substantial new, BD-exclusive material as well. As usual, the above is unofficial until there is an announcement from the studio.

If they put both versions of each movie on the set then the value of this just skyrockets for me. Hopefully they'll clean up the work-print version of Alien 3 a bit more.. probably wishful thinking, but still..

I like all of the Alien movies (some more than others obviously) and can even stomach no. 4, it's just that ridiculous hybrid thing at the end that buggers up the entire film for me. Maybe they'll redo the effects. What? It might happen

Even though Alien 3 seems to be hated a lot, i think that movie had so much potential. But if you actually dissect Alien 3, it actually had many good elements to it. Now Resurrection was just a plain old mindless action flick with cool effects and swimming aliens, id say its the worst out of them all but its great to just with friends who arent familiar with the universe. Now i held off from buying the Quadriliogy because of a future blu release, and im happy i waited!
