Universal Details Atonement Blu-ray

Following up on our announcement yesterday, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced the technical specs and special features for the upcoming Blu-ray release of 'Atonement', which is scheduled to hit store shelves on January 26th. Coming on a BD-50, video will be presented in 1080p VC-1 accompanied by a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.
Extras for this release include:
- Deleted Scenes with Commentary By Director Joe Wright
- Feature Commentary With Director Joe Wright
- Bringing The Past to Life: The Making Of Atonement
- From Novel to Screen: Adapting A Classic
- BD Live - Basic Download Center

This is great news (I hadn't seen the earlier announcement either). I've been looking forward to this BD for a long time. Definitely agree on Universal's dragging their heels on this, especially since it's been out on the former rival format HD-DVD for a long time. There are several other Universal titles that have been on HD-DVD that are just taking an eternity to come to BD: Atonement, Talk to Me, The Pianist, The Sting and The Deer Hunter are the ones that I most want. (Other titles formerly in a similar situation but released on BD fairly recently include Brokeback Mountain and Children of Men.) Hurry up, Universal. |
