Japan's Adult Industry Given Access to Blu-ray

Posted July 30, 2007 08:50 AM by Josh Dreuth

Blu-ray Disc While the effect of adult films on the format war may be a heavily contested, the fact remains that there is a huge demand for this type of material. In Japan, the ability to release adult material on Blu-ray just got a whole lot easier. Assist Corp, who has handled most of the early adult Blu-ray content in Japan, has partnered with a company based in Taiwan to begin replication of adult titles. They are expected to begin production next month. Sony has long mandated that, while they will not allow their own production facilities to replicate adult material, they will assist any company which wants to do so. With the addition of this new production facility (which purchased the manufacturing equipment directly from Sony), adult content producers now have an additional outlet to manufacturer their features in high definition.

Who cares ? Porns industrie is ONLINE! it aint like it was before at VHS - BETAMAX time.
For me it aint huge news for blu-ray. Blu-ray dont need the porn market, they will win anyway.

Porn is already dominating the internet and download market. I think they are focusing on that.
Right now the discs is just an extra thing they do. But in my opinion, Japanese girls are cuter
anyways :P
But I still think this is not going to make a dent in the war. It is just another thing we can say
against the HD-DEAD fanboys who claim the porn industry is all HD-DVD.... cause now it isn't
all HD-DUD.

Is anyone aware that NBC/Universal studios is wholely owned and operated by General Electric? GE and Toshiba co-developed the current DVD and that is why NBC/Universal supports HD DVD. They are trying like hell to hang on to the licensing fees which are in the billions of dollars yearly. They are not going to give up easily. They will do and say most anything to either make Blu-ray fail or HD DVD win. If both HD formats fail they still win because they own the DVD licensing. This is the missing piece of the picture know one seems aware of. Past it on. Cheers,
