I tried to enjoy this movie but it is so self-indulgent and the "omg, disgusting" scenes bothered me for weeks |

I also tried to enjoy this so called movie but just ended up hating it more than any movie than I can remember. This is not art, these are dreams of a psychotic man who should be institutionalized. I am European and have a general liking of different and artistic movies, but this movie is no such thing. Was he trying to shock an audience in the shock proof 21st century? I was neither shocked nor repulsed, but must admit it got me a tiny bit depressed . It felt like I just lost 2,5 hours of my life on listening in on a Von Trier therapy session about his mommy issues.
If anyone wants to watch this again after their first viewing then you are probably better of using that money on therapy
In other words, rent before you buy! |

"Antichrist Gets Blu-ray"
There you go late-adopters. Even the Antichrist is on board with the new format. This is a clear indication Blu-ray is around to stay. |

Very interested in seeing this film. I read there was lot of controversy over him dedicating this film to Tarkovsky; I think it's appropriate as both filmmakers have been accused of being pretentious and self indulgent, but you'll never hear their films accused of being unoriginal and formulaic like most movies made these days. |

Chances are the region 1 release will be released by The Criterion Collection just like Von Triers Europa ... so I'll hold off until then. |
