An early announcement to retailers indicates that Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release 'Cabin Fever', the first movie directed by Eli Roth ('Hostel' and 'Hostel Part II'), on Blu-ray on February 16, 2010 (possibly to tie in with the theatrical release of 'Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever').
Update
Lionsgate has now officially announced the title and detailed its specifications and contents. The Blu-ray is presented in 7.1 DTS HD Master Audio and 1080p 2.40:1 video.
Special features include a new audio commentary with the director and cast members, the featurette Beneath The Skin: The Making of Cabin Fever
"and more. "
This is one of the first blu-rays that Lionsgate announced. It only took them like three or four years to give us an actual release date. Ditto on the Pancakes by the way.
hell yes!! 7.1! i can't wait until this is the standard audio format for everything, other than criterion type restorations of course, because they proudly don't mess with the original soundtrack...anyway...yes!
According to IMDB (which gives credit to blu-ray.com for being the first to report Cabin Fever coming on 2/16/10) Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever is a direct to DVD/Blu-ray that will also be released on 2/16, and will not have a theatrical run. I liked the first Cabin Fever and might purchase the Blu-ray, and will definitely rent the sequel.
