An early announcement to retailers indicates that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 'Breaking Bad: The Complete Second Season' on Blu-ray on March 9, 2010. There is no information on special features or technical specifications at this time.

'Breaking Bad: The Complete First Season' (which SPHE had released in March 2009 in standard definition only) is up for preorder as well, also with a release date of March 9, 2010.
Fantastic news!!! This is such a great show. We all need to make sure we buy season two in order to justify the cost of AMC/Sony releasing season one on blu as well.
I've been trying to think of something to compare it to, but I can't really come up with anything. It's really kind of it's own thing. Basically it's a dark drama with comedic underpinnings. I wouldn't automatically blind buy it, because not everyone likes it. Maybe rent it first to make sure it's your cup of tea. It's definitely worth checking out though.
