A Nightmare on Elm Street Blu-ray Announced (Update)

  Warner Home Video, in conjunction with New Line Home Entertainment, has announced the Blu-ray release of Wes Craven's modern horror classic 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' for April 6. This BD release will exclusively include a BonusView feature titled Ready Freddy Focus Points, where users can "see alternate takes and learn filmmaking secrets behind the nightmare by jumping to video highlights while watching the movie." All units include Movie Money (value $7.50) to see the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, in theaters April 30.
Bonus features consist of:
- Ready Freddy Focus Points
- Commentaries:
- Director Wes Craven, co-stars Heather Langenkamp and John Saxon, and cinematographer Jacques Haitkin
- Wes Craven, co-stars Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp and Ronee Blakley, producer Robert Shaye and co-producer Sara Risher
- Alternate endings
- Featurettes:
- The House That Freddy Built: The Legacy of New Line Horror
- Never Sleep Again: The Making of A Nightmare on Elm Street
- Night Terrors: The Origins of Wes Craven's Nightmares

Hopefully the other ANOES films will soon follow. This is the first step hopefully to that full boxed set with all ANOES.

I was wondering with the reboot coming out on April 30th if they would release the '84 original. Looks as if they are. Now we have all the 80's horror icons on blu, we just need the follow-ups.

I wonder if it will look better then The Canda release? I have The Canada version,and I think it looks and sounds great. Well even thoe I have The Canada one I'll still be picking this one up as well. |

Wow, AWESOME news! I can NOT wait!
I hope the PQ turns out better than Canadian (Alliance release). I'm hoping for little to no DNR (no waxy skin tones) The same thing goes for EE! and that Warner preserves some grain.
I agree with davidthenikonuser: Make it the full uncut version. Hopefully with a lossless mono soundtrack along with the 5.1 mix in lossless! |
