Correction
The initial information we received was incorrect. This is a Best Buy exclusive. Amazon received some copies on release date, and that's why it briefly showed up as in stock. We apologize for the error, and extend our thanks to everybody who submitted updates.
Yeah, once you get past the question of "why?!!" someone made a sequel to Alone in the Dark, it is possible that it might be better than the original. It wouldn't take much. They made a sequel to House of the Dead, and while it was generic and forgettable, it was way better than Boll's original (No video game footage in that one... ). Not a huge achievement, but still. Consider me curious.
i rented this from netflix but havent watched it yet. Though from the sounds of it the movie is completely unrelated to Uwe Bolls Alone in the Dark crapfest. So maybe this will be decent or at least passable entertainment.
What a LETDOWN the first one was. I remember I bought it because it supported the extra channel in the back surrounds and it was barely used in the mix.
What a steaming pile.
So here we are...two years later. We get Alone in the Dark II...and STILL no D.E.B.S.!!!
I actually downloaded this several months ago. I only watched the opening sequence but it looked ok. From this trailer it looks like the ONLY thing remotely connecting it to Uwe Boll's film is the title.
Wow--I did not even realize the first Alone in the Dark existed. But I'm not surprised it was a poorly received film-given that Tara Reid is a "young genius anthropologist with an incredible memory (imdb.com)". What I guess I am surprised by is how far Lance Henrikson has fallen (granted he was in Pumpkinhead, but still). Oddly enough, I'd be more interested in seeing this one than the first one.
Oh geez, the directors of this were both involved with ONLY Uwe Boll's other movies, like In The Name Of The King and House Of The Dead, they never worked on anyone elses movies, so that a bad sign right there...
Ator I disagree. House of The Dead 2 like Blood Rayne 2 were worse then the original and the originals sucked. Alone in the dark sucked, this can't be much better.
Never saw Blood Rayne 2, but Uwe Boll made that one so I'd expect it to be atrocious. I still think the Boll-less House of the Dead 2 was a much more competent movie than the original. Not a great movie by any means, but not the absolute laughing stock that was the first one.
Regardless, I'm still stumped by this one. I'd love to to hear the backstory for Alone in the Dark 2's very existence.
