Confirming previous rumors (see blu-ray.com, January 14), an early announcement to retailers indicates that, on May 4 April 27, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release the Michael Bay scifi/action movie Armageddon and the western Tombstone on Blu-ray. No information on audio/video specifications or special features is available at this time.
Update
Retailers are now showing a release date of April 27 for both titles.

Finally, we'll get to see Armageddon with a anamorphic transfer, since it was never released anamorphically on DVD. I'll be getting both Armageddon, and Tombstone on Blu-ray. |

Awesome! Tombstone! Funny, I just was discussing Tombstone with my buddy yesterday and told him, I doubt we'd ever get this movie on blu. I love it when I'm wrong! |

I hope it has special features and not just a bare bones release. Region Free would be nice too, so us foreigners don't have to wait... |

Tombstone is one of the top 10 greatest westerns ever. Hopefully it will get a restored "Kurt Russell cut" including all the scenes left on the cutting room floor, since he recently fessed up to being the real director. I'd also love a retrospective documentary on this well known troubled production. |
