Battlestar Galactica Series Blu-ray Repackaged, Adds The Plan

Share
Posted February 1, 2010 04:21 AM by Juan Calonge

Universal StudiosUniversal Studios Home Entertainment has announced Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series for release on April 6. The main change from the July 2009 edition (which is now discontinued) is that this new box set will include Battlestar Galactica: The Plan (released in October 2009). Additionally, it will come in slimmer packaging and the list price is lower.

Contents and special features are in principle identical to the corresponding discs in the previously-released editions.

I'll be saving all my BB reward certificates for this one!

Hopefully the packaging turns out good. I think Rome has the best series packaging so far... pure gold.

Good to hear that the packaging will be "slimmer". The first set looked cool, but just didn't look like it mingled with the other Blu-ray cases at all. (Then again, it's a friggin' Cylon! Nothing mingles well with a Cylon. Except toast...)

I'll be throwing down my $$$ for this set. I've beeen holding off for a "true" complete series. Here's hoping the slimmer packaging looks nice too.

And I bought Season One already...I'm thinking about buying this complete set. Dang I should of waited, oh well. Season One as a blind buy was totally worth it!!!

I hope Universal will have some way to order the new "slimmer" case for people who bought the complete series last year.

So it includes The Plan this time, better packaging, and will cost less? Well, I'm glad I waited, I will have to get this...

I may finally pull the trigger with this re-release. I'm not a big fan of bulky collectible packaging. I just want something I can store on my shelf. Here's hoping this new slimmer packaging will be like that. If not... well... I'll probably still buy it if the price is right.

You might want to return Razor and take a closer look at Season 4, disc 1 in your set.

I'll be more than happy to buy this set, but only IF Universal can figure out why their bd discs don't like to play in Samsung players without a bunch of headaches!

I can't wait. I wanted to buy this since the initial release... and put it off and off.

I still haven't watched 'the Plan'... but the series was one of the best of recent memory!

ya know sometimes dont you feel like us blu ray supporters are taken for fools by these companies it seems like they should have had it this way to begin with and now there like "oh we must have forgotten to wait a little longer so you could get everything whats that you can just double dip?" ya like throwing around a couple hundred more dollars isnt easy for all of us. anyways just venting.... i know im not the only one lol

ya.

Oh well, I have the first complete series (got it for 150 on that deepdiscount deal), and the plan.

SO WHATEVZ.

I like pre-order extras and specials. The early bird no longer gets the worm!

I get the feeling that some people don't know what a true double dip is. This is simply a re-release with non-collectible packaging, but otherwise the same release. Yes, they're including The Plan this time, but that's simply because it wasn't yet available when the collector's set came out. This is the same exact discs in different wrapping. Nothing new.

I think I'll hold off until the NEXT repackaging, because according to something Olmos said (can't remember when or where), The Plan isn't the last BSG movie.

Glad I waited! Now I just have to wait for a good price for the set!
