Yay for Escape from L.A. but I want Escape from New York. Ya I know MGM has that but who now owns MGM?

Escape from New York was a good one, but I thought Escape from L.A. was terrible. I am waiting for 48 Hrs. (and the sequel wasn't too bad either).

MGM is still owned by various companies and investors, and Sony is one of them (I think they own 20%). MGM is still operating on their own (with a distribution deal with Fox), but it seems they will now be selling everything (movies, company logo etc.) but no date has been set yet.

What kind of world do we live in where they would release Escape From L.A. BEFORE Escape From New York?

Escape from New York is a great low-budget sci-fi/thriller, but Escape from L.A. is a steaming pile of nonsense. K-19 could have been a good movie had they cast it differently.

Anyone who has not seen THE SCORE, it's worth a blind buy. Deniro and Brando in their only movie together and Norton is pretty solid as well. It's easily one of my favorite movies in my colection and I hope there's more extras then on the DVD release.

I love Escape from LA and will never understand why people don't like it. What a fun movie! I'll pick it up for sure, though a few special features would have been nice. And for those who don't know, the reason LA is being released before New York is quite simple. Different companies own the rights. One movie's release has nothing to do with the other.

No Commentary? Not one of the making-of docs? Escape should not be bare-bones. Lame.

ESCAPE really needs a Russell/Carpenter commentary track. I kind of hate the movie, but I'd buy the disc for a commentary alone.

Dammit!! Why isn't Escape from L.A. getting any xtras??!!! As with the majority, a Russell/Carpenter would've been sweet! I do hpe they'll be last minute additions to this news bit.
