Warner Home Video has announced Free Willy: Escape from Pirate's Cove for release on a Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack on March 23. In a departure from Warner's modus operandi with direct-to-video content, this movie –starring Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Steve Irwin, "The Crocodile Hunter"– will include a lossless audio track.
Special features include:
- Free Willy pop-up fun track (BD-exclusive)
- On the set of Free Willy: Greetings from South Africa
- Bindi Irwin and Willy invite all to "meet my wild costars"
- Bindi's first movie video diary
- Deleted scenes
- Outtakes

Meeklo, how wrong you are. It is a new baby whale the girl names Willy for no reason tied to the films title, completely different story, they even added Beau Bridges, totally original. |

Thank God. I was worried they were going to forget about this series, but alas Warner Brothers have restored my faith (sarcasm). |

They could save a crap ton of money and not have made this atrocious video. Give us the FIRST Free Willy please. This repetative joke of making a fourth, fifth, tenth "sequel" is becoming a joke. |

I wonder if that native American actor, who always plays an Indian in just about every role will be in it. Anyways, maybe this new installment will bring back the huge craze for the first Free Willy and by popular demand it will require a blu-ray transfer. And with the one year anniversary of MJ's death just around the corner. Fans are gonna want something reminiscent to hold on to. His hit song from the film "Will You Be There" is part of what made the movie successful. Just a thought on an outside the box marketing strategy. |

How about the first Free Willy? How many of these are they actually going to sell compared with the original. I am an advocate for releasing all new material so this is good but how about a same-date release of the original?
Looks like Warner may finally have gotten the message when it comes to lossless. |

Am I the only one who cringed when reading that title "Escape from Pirate's Cove", it's just reeking of cheesiness. I mean, WTF. Who even knew this movie was coming out... honestly... nobody. Instead of releasing random crap, why not just release the first one. So please, stop releasing Willy Warner Bros., just buy a better watertank.
Don't bother defending this movie - 'cause the folks over at Warners themselves even know this is just a quick cash-in on an already established franchise. |

I'm not opposed to a Free Willy sequel, but not like this. bring back Richter and Schellenberg, even in supporting roles, to launch a well written theatrical film. This is some random whale movie and they call it Willy. BS. |

Yet another great film who's name is dragged through the mud with stupid direct to video crap. It's the same story with just about every disney cartoon.
When they release a blu-ray boxset of the free willy movies, please leave this one out Warner. |
