In what is becoming a rather unpleasant tradition, Media Blasters has announced a long list of delays for all the titles from its DVD and Blu-ray schedule. Most prominently (and painfully), the cult movie from the Tokyo Shock label Versus, already delayed from December 29, 2009 to March 30, is now slated for June 29.
Wicked Lake (from the Shriek Show label) is also delayed to June 29, from April 27. The Deadly Duo is shifted two weeks, from April 27 to May 11, and Machine Girl, initially scheduled for May 25, will now come out on a date "to be determined."
In what is marginally better news, Amazon shows Ichi the Killer as being in stock on March 31.

How something as awful as Wicked Lake gets a blu-ray release is beyond me. Considering MB's track record I guess I shouldn't have kept my hopes up for Machine Girl. |

I've loved Media Blasters for decades; but they move when they want to. |

I agree with everyone. Media Blasters doesn't care about anyone but them. I have purchased their products for 10 years and can't believe their website is so out of date for releases. They just don't care about their customers. They don't even respond to e-mail questions on releases. |

Sucks for the fans. Nothing worse then a studio announcing and delaying. How about announcing it when it's actually ready to go? Kind of like Apple.
I owned Versus and Ichi on DVD, but have since sold them. I definitely wasn't a fan of either. There are other Media Blasters Blu-rays I'd like to see though. |

I can tell you as a retailer that I have stopped taking preorders for their products and don't even bother bringing in many of them. It simply isn't worth planning a budget to bring something in, which is going to be delayed again and again. MYA is almost as bad, but they seem to be getting their act together finally. Maybe? |

March 31st is a Wednesday so it's a placeholder date. Also as stated before the recent layoffs with Media Blasters might be a problem with trying to release these on Blu-ray. Heck even many anime series from Media Blasters are delayed as well. It's just not looking up for the company with the economy right now. |
