Amazon has an interesting BD-related "lightning deal" going on now: for a
very limited time, you can buy The Hannibal Lecter Collection (Manhunter / The Silence of the Lambs / Hannibal) for only $27.99 (60% off MSRP). This offer expires today at 2 p.m. PST, or when stock runs out.
I want Red Dragon to come out and I want these to be released individually. Manhunter goes with the other Michael Mann films, Hannibal goes with the other Ridley Scott films, etc. Box sets for this and the Batman films and the Alien films are useless to me and anyone else who organizes by director.
Yeah, agreed. I'm not a fan of box sets, in general. I prefer to have individual cases and artwork for each film. Even though it takes up more space, I like to have each title filed in its proper spot (for me it's just alphabetical, not by director.)
THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP !!! Giving my Silence Blu & standard DVD of Hannibal to my son, who has read the books, and looks forward to my old discs, and...total spent for all 5 films is...only $ 45.00 total !!!! Not bad huh ?

Red Dragon has been out on BD for a whle now in the UK, at a bargian price on a region free disc from Universal. Looks great, and is much better than Manhunter. I think I paid like eight pounds for it.
Red Dragon: different studio from the rest, will never be released with these. I just bought this trilogy, which is good for now. Waiting on Universal to release Red Dragon.
Ordered this , managed to catch it unlike the BD deal yesterday that sold out way too quickly. I'm planning on getting the UK Red Dragon. Are any of the European releases of Hannibal Rising decent and region free? The completist in me won't be happy until I have all of the films. I wish there had been a multistudio deal to get a complete set out if they had to do a set, but since Red Dragon is technically a remake, I'm not too surprised that this didn't happen.
REPEAT: Red Dragon has been out on BD for a quite whle now in the UK, at a bargian price on a region free disc from Universal. Order it from Amazon UK.
discking, if you were referring to my post, I said I had been planning on buying Red Dragon from the UK. It is Hannibal Rising I am asking about. There is a UK and a German release AFAIK. I've heard that the German release is superior as far as audio and video quality, but have heard conflicting information on its region status and don't know about the UK version's region status.
Most people dont want the import, even if it is region free. They want to walk into Best Buy or Target and see it on the shelf. Or they want it to come up as a normal search in Amazon.
Like I said, anyone who is a fan of film, a fan of Bluray, or a fan of the Hannibal series already has Silence Of The Lambs and Hannibal. They're all waiting for Red Dragon
