So put me down for fantastic 4 and the die hard series.... great news today, looking forward to CEDIA next week. Maybe we will see a bunch of unannounced movies then. Here's hoping but today's news is incredible. Blu-ray steam rolling the competition!!!! BLU FTW
Yeah, Fox! Now if we can just get those cancelled titles re-announced. (Princess Bride, Man on Fire, Silence of the Lambs) this day will be the best day ever!
Nice to see that these titles are getting some features on them on top of everything else. It seems like Fox got the message about people being annoyed with their earlier efforts. It'd be nice if they offered a box set of the Die Hard movies, but you know they will wait for a double-dip to do that.
MAN OH MAN!! I CANNOT POSSIBLY CONTAIN MY EXCITMENT!!! my coworkers are already getting tired of me sending them instant messages everytime I hear more big BLU news today! THE LFODH Bluray is indeed UNRATED!!!! WOO HOO!!!
Mike Dunn is a stud! Read that man's quote in the press release. Talk about a guy who knows how to tell the Blu-ray story succinctly, and with impact. WOW! We are very fortunate to have the exclusive support of this studio. So glad to see them go from not delivering much, to over-delivering for Blu-ray these days. There isn't a single HD / Home Video enthusiast that would rather have Paramount's catalogue over Twentieth Century Fox. Anybody who would suggest otherwise, knows deep down they are completely full of shit!
The Die Hard movies are coming out here in the UK almost a month earlier??
Blimey, that is odd! Question is though, will they be region B restricted or not? It's hard to tell sometimes, I just got the UK version of The Sentinel and it plays in my US PS3.
HERE's a link to a neat little article!
Couple this info with the FACTS that Blu-Ray is leading overseas sales to the tune of 2:1 or maybe even 3:1 in favor of BLU-RAY the writing is almost on the wall.
Wasn't a big fan of FF1 but I bought it anyway so I'll be buying the sequel as well.
Now Die Hard! Frak yeah that is great news. All those morons that keep swearing that unrated movies are not released on Blu can see the light and realize how wrong they are. This is great news and great for Blu!
Yeah baby yeah!!! Shag-adelic!! OOOPS! *Austin Powers moment*
So we're getting Die Hard 4 UNRATED!! Woo Hoo!!
Keep up the awesome work, Fox!!!
Jodi
P.S. I know some of our wallets/accounts are going to be feeling the strain this fall (Sept. 18, yadda
yadda yadda), but let's start beating those war, er uh, Blu drums for "Buy Pixar on Blu-Ray Day" Nov.
6.
I spooged on myself after reading todays posts. It's just so beautiful that one lone tear rolls down my cheek.
Even if today was a complete dookie storm and my lucky umbrella was stolen this could make it all alright.
Does anyone happen to know why FOX Blu-Ray only offers DTS as its main English audio? I have Dolby Digital only, so I haven't been able to buy any FOX Blu-Ray discs, unless I'm missing something. They do offer French in Dolby Digital.
Any idea on who I could write directly to at FOX about this?
