Warner Home Video has announced the BBC title The Great Rift for release on Blu-ray on September 21. This three-part natural history series explores the landscape and wildlife of East Africa's Great Rift Valley. It traces the valley's formation 30 million years ago, and highlights the many creatures that have evolved and adapted to live in this unique landscape.
Definitely interested in this. As an African Cichlid aquarium owner, I've always had an interest in the area. Hope they detail some of the lakes ecosystems. A new look might give me some ideas on a new set-up. My 125 gal. is in need of a "remodel".
Been there. Should make a fabulous BD for the nature lover. I see this is a BBC production. Has it ever been shown in either the USA or Canada? I don't remember hearing about it.
@ Rob71 - I'm trying to find information on the show but it doesn't look like there is anything on the Rift Lakes as I am interested in that as well. If you like a good documentary on cichlids, there is a old documentary from National Geographic. It's called JEWEL OF THE RIFT. It's a documentary on the cichlids of Lake Tanganyika. The down side is it's hard to find and only on VHS.
Very good news, one look at my collection shows that I will purchase just about everything the BBC NHU puts out.
Sure would love to see something on Uluru, or just central Australia/The Outback.
