Posted June 29, 2010 05:47 AM by Juan Calonge

Vivendi Visual EntertainmentVivendi Visual Entertainment has announced four horror movies from the Weinstein/Dimension library for release on Blu-ray in the lead-up to the Halloween horror viewing season. The studio will release Pulse on September 7, Feast on September 14, Prey on September 28 and Black Christmas (the 2006 remake) on October 19. Edition details and special features have not been detailed.

It must be noted that Black Christmas, Feast and Pulse had been released on HD DVD by Genius/Weinstein in 2007.

It is a step in the right direction. More Horrible ... I mean Horror films on Blu-ray. More of a ripple than a wave. I'll buy some.

I'll be buying Feast, for sure. I'll wait for Black Christmas to lower in price since I'm sure it'll be around $24.99 to start. I loved the original, but the remake isn't that great. However, my OCD would kill me if I didn't have the remake along with the original haha.
I'm very happy that Vivendi is releasing some horror titles though!
I think it's a little ironic though that I just happened to send a couple e-mails to all the companies involved with Feast and Black Christmas about this and now they're beginning to be announced haha.

I'm in it for FEAST & PULSE...Hopefully they won't release the horrible sequels to these movies...

Definitely getting Feast. Maybe Black Christmas once it's under $15. I thought Pulse was a mess, and I've never heard of Prey.

Finally...I haven't even seen the new Black Christmas, but I will buy anything with Mary Elizabeth Winstead in it. (I have high hopes and low expectations for the movie quality)

Yeah, that's not ironic, it's called coincidence.

I agree prddad about the Feast sequels. I didn't like Pulse's ending. If Black Christmas is cheap enough...

The quality of Vivendi's Blu-rays so far have been very erratic, and some have been downright horrible. One hopes they start striving for more consistent quality soon.

Perhaps Vivendi will release The Matador (another HD DVD title) and I can unload the awful Alliance release of it.

I'll be getting Pulse and Feast. Black Christmas is absolute GARBAGE! It's completely ridiculous and stupid. Not remotely scary, just pathetic.

Waydago Vivendi for putting out some *ahem* classic horror on blu. Its not like they're holding out on any good Weinstein/Dimension titles *cough*NightofTheLivingDead*cough*.

What we need is Disney releasing all of the good Dimension titles prior to 2005. Anything after that is pretty weak. For the most part.
