Vampires Exist: The Gritty Realism of Dark Days
Graphic Inspirations: Comic to Film (BD-exclusive)
I love the first one, and think it's one of the best vampire movies ever, and i was so excited to hear of a sequel, but then they recast the roles and then it was announced as DTV and not a theatrical movie. My excitment for a sequel is not what it once was
I'll still check it out and i'm hoping for the best. I just hope it sticks with the feel of the first one and doesn't try to "twilight" up the vampires
Hopefully the boost in budget will make up for the shortcomings we had with this director's Fearnet 30 Days of Night serials. While I'm sad to see Melissa George go, its just as well that David Slade doesn't return (though I still love Hard Candy and the original 30 Days, he sold out when he signed onto Twilight: Eclipse...relegating all the artistic decision making to the producers).
I like the original film, but I thought it stretched credibility that they managed to hide for 30 days. I mean, these are viscious and frankly starving vampires. There is literally no where to go aside from this tiny town, but they can't find the people for a month?
