Comicbookmovie.com is reporting that the two-disc special edition Blu-ray of Iron Man 2 (due out September 28) will include teaser trailers for the Thor movie and Captain America. Both will reportedly be easter eggs, hidden in a special S.H.I.E.L.D. Data Vault.
Awesome, just another reason to pick this up on first day. I did feel iron man 2 had more problems then the first (too much Shield stuff shoehorned in, Don cheadle being a terrible replacement, and whiplash having such a great set up only to be fizzled away and then just show up in a similar ending to the first movie)
but having said that, i still enjoyed it quite a lot and i think as Avengers and iron man 3 happens, the film will flow better as a part of something much larger. I think it was never meant to be a stand alone story, but rather a prequel to what's going to come over the next 3 years. In many ways i think Iron man 3 will be more of a true sequel to the first film
I hope it's the footage Marvel showed us at Comic Con. The "Thor" trailer was so epic (and in 3D!) and the small glimpse of Evans in the Captain America costume was nice. I doubt it'll include the CA footage they showed with Red Skull in Norway, but that would be pretty cool.
It's possible this could be the first official trailer for Thor and the first teaser for cap, and I hope they are actually on the disc and it's not some BD live streaming bullshit that no one can watch because the servers are always full
The Thor movie compilation and Captain America teaser trailer will both be included in the sequel's 2-disc Special Edition Blu-Ray.
Unfortunately, they won't be easy to find. The features will be "hidden" in a special S.H.I.E.L.D. Data Vault (an obvious nod to the infamous S.H.I.E.L.D. prison of the same name). I have it on good authority that the Thor footage included on the Blu-Ray disc will be finalized with full effects and CG. There is some bad news, though; the Captain America teaser may not reveal Chris Evans in his movie costume. Since these features have to be added to the disc docket before it's ready for mass production, a decision of how much will be revealed has to be made within the next few days.
No confirmation whether these features will also be included on the DVD release or other, limited edition releases.
thats pretty cool, however it still wont make me buy this movie.. i really wanted to like this i loved the first one, but the comedy and awful one liners out weighed the action and pretty much ruined my Iron Man 2 experience.. i found myself waiting for awful jokes.. this movie would be a great drinking game as in everytime they crack a joke you drink, however i gotta make sure i have a 24 pack for this experience, it will be a longgg night
I did agree that IRON MAN 2 wasn't necessary a sequel to the first one. It did pick up where the first film left off making way for both THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA, but it was still a nice solid sequel. I don't know why everyone hated it. I thought it was pretty good. Though I do agree that it wasn't as good as the first.
Why would I buy a piece of phyiscal media that advertises a movie that will soon come and go? As if there won't be trailers of all sorts on TV and before every movie I see.
I'll buy Ironman 2 when the price approaches $10, but it really wasn't as good as the first. They committed the common sequel mistake of trying too hard. (Oh, and if the villain's weapon is a 10 foot whip, just stand 11 feet away from him.)
