Wow, that was fast. Thank you, whoever is in charge, for not making us wait until next summer to pick this up!

Hey Fox! I would replace my Vol 1-4 DVDs with Blu, too!

That is good news, I only wish that I had a collector's case for those 4 specials that came out between season 4 and season 5.

As with most modern animation, I suspect the question of whether previous seasons get released on Blu depends on whether the original CGI effects were rendered in HD or not.

Is it confirmed for 13 episodes? They have only aired 12 so far with the 13th being aired in December because it is a Christmas episode.

I don't appreciate the $35 price tag for 13 episodes. South Park and Family Guy pull this shit too. Hopefully, the price will come down before the release date.

judging by other FOX tv shows on blu ray this will be region A and B so good for me
and it would be great to get all of futurama on blu ray

Love this show. Still waiting for the blu-rays of the first 2 movies, though. I was hoping they'd tie-in with the release of this season. Maybe if it has decent sales.... Ah well. Love the quick release of this set regardless.

I LOVE Futurama but to me this new season wasn't as funny as the older series. I hope it's just shaking off the cobwebs. Would love to get 1-4 on Blu as well.

13 episodes is still close 5 hours not counting bonus materials. So $35 really isn't that unreasonable of a price compared to buying a movie. Especially for me since episodic cartoon content like this gets a lot more repeat viewings in my home than movies do.

Sweet. Thought it had some rocky patches, but also some of the best episodes in the series. Day one for me.

13? I thought they've only aired 11 so far.

Will buy if I see below $30. This new season had several great laughs and in high definition should be fantastic

The first 4 volumes were animated in standard def so I wouldn't get my hopes up for a good 3D release. Sorry to say.

Are these 13 Episodes the same as the 4 feature lenghs that have already been released?

dmarvin
 - Oct 08, 2010

@ Nathan Arizona - No, these were the individual half-hour episodes that just aired on Comedy Central (season ended last month). As mentioned above, they saved a Christmas episode for later so only 12 of the 13 episodes aired.

I thought, all things considered, it was a fabulous season. Still the Futurama I know and love.

It's not FOX show anymore, its Comedy Centrals. Plus they already took some shots at FOX earlier.

@bfellow

Yes, but the Blu-rays are distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. It doesn't really matter which channel they were broadcast on.

@ dmarvin – thanks – I had no idea new episode had been made as we don't get Comedy Central in Canada -- a very nice surprise.

$35 would be a good price for this 13 episode set in Canada. Those 4-episode-equivalent feature blu ray releases are each around $35.
