Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that, on December 28, it will release Resident Evil: Afterlife on Blu-ray, in two editions: a 2D Blu-ray and a 3D Blu-ray (which also includes the 2D version). Note that, unlike most other live-action 3D movies, the latest installment in the Resident Evil franchise was shot natively in 3D, using the same Cameron/Pace cameras used for Avatar.
Can't wait to see this one in 2D. My theatre only carried the 3D version so I had no other option. While I did enjoy Afterlife, I'm sure I'll enjoy it more in 2D, just like Avatar (saw it in 3D, liked it better in 2D).
I watched it in 2D, but the "hey this is obviously a 3D effect!" didn't bother me as much as the oversued slow-motion >_> Still getting it because I'm forever bound to buy anything that has Resident Evil slapped on the cover
I actually really liked this one. I think it may be the best (or second best) of the series. To me, the first film was just ok, the second was pretty bad, but the 3rd and 4th are where the series really kicks in for me.
i'll get 2d. and it's not foolish. 3d sucks and is a passing fad. the only people who actually like it are the movie studios because they get to charge extra. they're already planning a resident evil 5 since this did so well. hopefully the steelbook in the uk will be region free, because if nobody in the us has it i'll want to order that to match my other three, since we can't order from futureshop in the us
