You are correct. Its the 2D version of Coraline with the pre-Blu-ray 3D standard that you need weird glasses for. Also its the non-3D version that is the better deal ($26.48).
IMO 3D is over-hyped anyways, if a movie is not shot specifically for 3D (i.e. Avatar) then its not going to be earth shattering to watch in 3D.... what it will be is much more expensive to purchase.
Actually, Coraline WAS shot in 3D with a special 3D rig [left and right shots of each frame - see bonus features of original Coraline BD release], so it is a true 3D movie. It's just that until now it was only available in the paper glasses version. But yeah, the sale version is the old regular 3D version.
