Any idea of a UK release date? I'd like to get this in the UK, but don't know if I can wait. Plus there's the issue of whether or not this will be region-coded.
I knew this for about nearly two months. Still good to see the release detailed, and definitely will be a Day one pickup for me. Cannot wait to watch this again.
Definitely day 1 for me. Been waiting for this announcement for a long time.
Regarding the Criterion issue, the good thing is that we are guaranteed a "region free" disk from Sony, but the bad thing is that no company treats blu-ray transfers like Criterion.
Sony can put out great transfers as good as anyone, so no, it DIDN'T have to come from Criterion. WB's transfers of their classic titles are also as good as there is.
I would've thought that Fincher would oversee the transfer of this as he has done for most of his films on Blu Ray (I believe). Couple that with Sony releasing it and it should be a pretty good disc.
My friends and I really wanted to see this in theaters, one was even like (hey this is the modern day history we're living through) but compared to other films we ended up waiting for disc. Should be good. I'll likely blind buy. Love Aaron Sorkin
This is a good movie but something I can save for a rental, given the fact that it's a movie that we have basically lived through. I was probably one of the last three to have gotten the last tickets to see the movie before it was sold out with two of my friends but it's not something I would want to own on DVD or on Blu-Ray. Best save it as a rental.
Although more importantly, I would rather watch it win some awards than watch the movie again.
i'm glad it's coming out so soon, I skipped it in theaters due to the thinking "who wants to see a Facebook movie", but hearing all the positive reviews towards this movie i'm intrigued and most likely picking it up day one.
Oustanding flick that I didn't expect to like that much going in. Love Fincher. So-so on Eisenberg (liked him in "Squid"...ended up thinking he was vanilla, same in everything, too similar to Cera), but he was outstanding in this. Garfield is a stud (was outstanding in "Lions 4 Lambs"). Sorkin rocks the most. Can't wait to buy this one. Hope it's loaded with goodies.

Plenty of distributors' transfers rival those of Criterion. Among them, SONY...
A Criterion would have been super awesome but I'll be buying this one instantly anyway. What a terrific film. It's been sweeping up all the critics awards so far and hopefully will win many statues before all is said and done. A significant film which will be remembered long after many of its peers from this year have been forgotten.
I don't think that's the official cover RichardP. I did a google image search for the official artwork and didn't come up with anything other than the one sheet.
I'll buy this on the first day. Saw it in a lousy cinema where the lights were still on for half of the show and where the projector was mis-alligned or so producing a very blurred picture. Still, the movie was ABSOLUTELY GREAT!
This IS modern history we're seeing. Mark is -such- a jerk and at the same time such an amazing guy.
I just pre-ordered the HMV exclusive artwork version (I don't even know what it looks like yet!!).
Great film and I firmly believe that movies shot with RED ONE cameras produce exemplary Blu-ray transfers (Book of Eli, District 9 and Wallander are good examples). The Social Network looked glorious in the theatre and hopefully that will follow at home.
Extras look good and I really hope this becomes a classic on Blu-ray the way Se7en and Fight Club are on DVD.
New guy here. Are these features Blu-Ray exclusive? The wording leads me to believe so, and I can't find any information elsewhere about what features are or aren't on the DVD.
