Paranormal Activity 2 Announced on Blu-ray

Posted December 21, 2010 03:24 AM by Juan Calonge

ParamountParamount Home Entertainment has announced Paranormal Activity 2 for Blu-ray release on February 8, 2011, in a BD/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack. This "chillingly realistic" prequel to 2009's sleeper hit Paranormal Activity will be presented both in its original theatrical version and in an extended, unrated version that was "too intense for theaters."

Special features include:
  • Found footage
  • Teaser trailer

"Too intense for theaters"? Yeah, people weren't ready for another 5 minutes. I hope it is more than that, though. I need to re watch since I only saw a cam version, but I'll check this out before I buy it.

What I don't understand is, if this shit is based on "true events" how can you have "extended cuts" and "alternate endings"?

'based on true events' is a lot different than 'based on a true story'. Events mean that, events, could be many experiences rolled into one story, where as 'true story' means just one story with little variance in events. weird huh? lol

Finally! Glad I'll get to see this at home and save myself the motion sickness I got from watching the original in the theaters.

Instead of saying "too intense for theaters" can't they say "will make you shit your pants twice edition?"

"Based on true events" is just a marketing lie. I know saying that is supposed to make 13 year old girls more frightened, but nothing in these movies has ever happened in the real world. There's no sense in being dishonest about it or insulting your audience; just say your movie is make believe.

Prequel?

This is a prequel with a timeline that leads up to the 1st movie and shows what happens after the 1st movie ends. It "wrapped up" questions you had on the 1st movie and opens the door for a 3rd movie. I enjoyed both movies and thought this was better than the 1st.

OMG! THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME! IT BLOWS AWAY The Shining, The Exorcist, Black Swan, Jaws...etc

Seriously guys: this movie was in theaters? Come on! It was obviously just a way to make a few extra bucks because of the first film's successful MARKETING advert. Notice I didnt say "the success of the first film". The first film is not known for being great. It's known for two things:

1) The marketing campaign (ala Blaire Witch)
2) Spielberg helped with the ending.

That's it!

The first film also originally came out in 07 but nobody cared and they hired better marketing co to launch it. The 2nd one was insanely boring and I was excited when I heard it was coming out.

@Frozenpinky........ Please, please, please don't compare this to Exorcist. Exorcist is a cult, classic. Please ask it from anyone in here.

@brazilduluwita....... haha, you know I was kidding, right? I wasnt really comparing it to Exorcist. If you read on, you'll seee I was being sarcastic.

the first one was really good but the 2nd one was a horrible cash in. I saw it in the theaters for free and wanted Rave Motion to pay me for time wasted out of my life
