Warner Home Video has announced Scooby-Doo: Curse of the Lake Monster for Blu-ray release on March 1, 2011, in a BD/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack. In this new live-action, direct-to-video Scooby Doo movie, the gang is off to a summer resort, only to stumble onto a mystery when the Frog Monster of Lake Erie makes an unexpected appearance.
Special features include:
Never-before seen music sequences
Scooby Doo: Rock Rap and Rollerskates
Jeepers! Jinkies! Zoinks! A Tribute to the Classic Gags of Scooby-Doo
Well, we have the original cartoons on DVD. I wonder if it would look that much better on blu? I'm thinking that this is probably one of those cases where upgrading to blu wouldn't make a huge difference (or at least that's what I'm hoping since we already have the DVD's).
I must've skipped the two words "live action", because I just now lost any and all appeal to check this out. The cartoon movies, hell yes. Live action ones? No, thanks.
A big pass on me for this one, but if there is ever a Thunderdome fight to the death type movie starring the CG Scooby-Doo and Marmaduke characters, I'm getting that day one
I don't think I can wait this long for this title -- the anxiety will KILL me!!!!!
Seriously, no thanks.
I'd rather buy "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" classics. Oh, and the classic "Yogi Bear" cartoons, too, if any.
EXTENDED EDITION??? HELL YEAH, THIS IS WHAT I GOT TO SEE!!!! THE QUESTION IS: WHERE'S ALL THE ACTION-PACKED SCENE THAT I WANT, SUCH AS SHOOTOUTS, FIGHTS, AND MUCH MORE?
As a big Scooby Doo fan, Scooby Doo! The Mystery Begins was actually pretty decent for a Direct To DVD movie. This? Not so much. Eh, I'll add it to my collection anyway.
