Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the creation of a new video app based on the movie Salt, which was released on Blu-ray last week. The "Compromise Your Friend" app allows users to create and share a video that "outs" a friend as a spy. The app uses Facebook Connect to access images of friends who can then be humorously identified as a sleeper cell agent in a mock newscast that is cut together with scenes from Salt.
Brian Harris, Creative Director at Bradley and Montgomery, who conceived and built the app on behalf of SPHE, says, "In a year that started with real Russian spies and ended with WikiLeaks posting classified information, we are talking about espionage more than anytime since the Cold War ended. How hard must it be to be a spy in the age of Facebook? We thought the idea of outing a Facebook friend as a spy – with, of course, some humorous touches – would be a fun way to celebrate the DVD/Blu-ray release of Salt."
@ seigneur_rayden - Angelina being the lead severly dampered the film, Having a male in the lead (not necessarly Tom cruise) would have made the film alot more beliveable. Why would any government invest a great amout of time and money into a woman who is weaker and more emotionally unstable then a man? Besides using her feminine wildes to seduce a man, a woman really offers no challenge in terms of phisicality and inteligence compared to a male advisary.
I'm sure i'll get bashed for posting that, but whatever, you all know it's true and that why 90 percent of all action movies with a woman in the lead are utterly terrible movies (critically and financially).
...a woman really offers no challenge in terms of inteligence compared to a male...
are you saying women are dumber than men? Dude.. you can't even spell intelligence
Wdm81 must've gone through a very traumatizing break up with his girlfriend, and now is favoring men over woman. It's okay to come out of the closet, just be more subtle about it, okay?
Wdm81, you are right that the movie will look more believable if it was a man but that will not make the movie better. Moreover, you are wrong about "a woman really offers no challenge in terms of physicality and intelligence compared to a male adversary." I don't think you will stand a chance against Michelle Yeoh nor a woman with a PHD in quantum physics.
In the real world there are many female agents out there ,doing what male agents are doing. No male or female agent is going to jump from truck to truck. thats hollywood. Jolie did a fine job in this movie. I thought the human race was getting better with views of women and other such things ,but after reading Wdm81 commit, i wonder?Btw i'm not a women, i sure love them ha ha. Wdm81 if you don't think women have physicality try child birth. The casting of Jolie, was right.
tvine2000, I agree with you on all counts. I thought she was perfect for the role, and I am simply astounded at the comments I'm reading here; just goes to show you how far we have not come as a society. Jolie was great in Mr. and Mrs. Smith as well, and she kicked butt left and right in that one. The problem with this movie was the script, not Jolie. I still enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to where they go with the sequel, if they do one that is.
Jolie might be slim, but she weighs a bit more than 90 pounds, and most of the guys she fought didn't look 250 to me, more like 190-200.
Yeah the comments here are pretty absurd. I agree Jolie would have been a bit more believable in the role if she gained 10-15 pounds but what are you gonna do? I think the film makers worked hard to make the fight scenes realistic because of the style she used- fast, quick strikes, lots of kicking, elbows, weapons, knees, hit and evade etc. The one time in the movie she went toe to toe with a guy she got her ass beat. Anyway I thought the movie was awesome. Tom Cruise wouldn't have been half as effective in the role.
I don't know what everyone has against the app, it obviously didn't take alot of time or money to create. If people have fun with it good for them.
