Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced The Tourist for Blu-ray release on March 22, in a single-disc edition and a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. This international romantic thriller, a remake of the French film Anthony Zimmer, stars Johnny Depp as a mild-mannered American on vacation in Venice who is befriended by a breathtakingly beautiful woman with a mysterious secret (Angelina Jolie).
I heard such a split on whether this was good or bad. Some said "Great performances, incredible suspense and cool twists", and the others thought it was like cardboard, with paint by the numbers suspense and dumb twists.
Ahh! Where have you guys been (aherron, veritas, tru blu)?? I thought I was the only who liked this movie! First day purchase for me! I can only dream that it be a SteelBook or digibook or some special packaging (sigh).
Hi benzgrl. Glad to see you on here. I myself liked this movie and will not pass it up when it comes to BLU. Especially Angie and Johhny. Love both actors. There will always be negative and positive reviews about a movie and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But for me personally this will be a day one purchase.
Ugh I'm so torn. The movie was so mediocre, but I'm a Jolie enthusiast. I guess I'll still get it, but not until it's cheeaappp. If there's one reason to see this movie, it's the Venice scenery, which I'm sure will look brilliant.
A lot of haters for this movie including Ricky Gervais saying the only reason it got nominated was so that the Foreighn Press could hang out with Jolie and Depp. I will rent it because I am a fan of the genre and the actors.
Ricky Gervais is the man! I don't understand why people put so much drama into what he said at those awards. He was hysterical. Don't people have a sense of humor?
Anyways, I love these two actors and actresses, but with so many mixed reviews and peoples opinnions, I'll have to rent it first.
