Terminator 3 Coming to Blu-ray (with PIP)

Posted October 15, 2007 05:15 PM by Josh Dreuth

Warner Bros. Warner Home Video has announced that they are bringing 'Terminator 3' to Blu-ray on December 4th. This title has been on HD DVD for quite some time, but hadn't received the Blu-ray treatment due to the IME (In Movie Experience) feature. With Blu-ray moving to Profile v1.1, Warner will finally bring this title to Blu-ray with the Picture-in-Picture IME feature intact.

The disc will mirror the HD DVD release, which includes 1080p VC-1 video and Dolby Digital audio. In addition to the IME, extras include deleted scenes, commentary, and an introduction by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

A decade has passed since John Connor (NICK STAHL) helped prevent Judgment Day and save mankind from mass destruction. Now 25, Connor lives "off the grid" - no home, no credit cards, no cell phone and no job. No record of his existence. No way he can be traced by Skynet - the highly developed network of machines that once tried to kill him and wage war on humanity. Until, out of the shadows of the future steps the T-X (KRISTANNA LOKEN), Skynet's most sophisticated cyborg killing machine yet. Sent back through time to complete the job left unfinished by her predecessor, the T-1000, this machine is as relentless as her human guise is beautiful. Now Connor's only hope for survival is the Terminator (ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER), his mysterious former assassin. Together, they must triumph over the technologically superior T-X and forestall the looming threat of Judgment Day - or face the apocalypse and the fall of civilization as we know it.

AWESOME! Lets show them HD-DUD boys what this titles should really sell at! If we can buy more
copies than they did, we can show them that more people are willing to wait for the BD version of it!

Great news that Warner is starting to release the titles only available to HD DVD. The HD DVD camp will have less to brag about when all the Warner titles become available to us. Although I didn't like this one I am a little diappointed that fans aren't getting Hi Def audio.

May the Blu be with you...

Great to hear, but WTF Warner? Seriously, stop giving us the identical neutered HD DVD encode will ya! We've been patiently waiting, so I think it is time for you to step up and give us the best possible encode.

P.S. Give us the best possible encode for The Matrix, Batman Begins, and V for Vendetta too please. Is this why you guys aren't releasing these titles until next year? Perhaps dropping HD DVD via CES 2008 before finally giving us the good encodes? I sure hope so.

now if we could only have a proper T1 and T2 on blu-ray this would be a hat trick.

T3 was ok. completely unnecessary, but ok all the same.

Marzetta, Warner is not gonna shell out money on a new transfer...yuo can thank HDDVD for dumbing down expectations. this being said, the T3 movie was a good action flick, just nothing compared to T2 (my favorite) and T1 which is the original. I did not buy either ones because of the overall bad reviews about the video transfer and the mediocre DVD generation audio. I will buy this one to support Warner's neutral BD releases. Plus it should still be a good action movie anyways!

Good news; he's back, this time on Blu-ray. Maybe this will help terminate all opposition; judgement day approaches, perhaps!

I hate it when neutral studios compromise PQ and AQ because they have to make a movie fit on an inferior disc technology. That's a damn shame.
