As of now, this bundle is the cheapest way to purchase all of Sergio Leone and Clint Eastwood's Western collaborations from Amazon's website—bought separately from the Trilogy collection, the three films would retail for $57.54.
Crazynutts.. You can just pull up the title on this site and look at the graph that shows all the prices this title has ever been at on Amazon. its right next to the list price. I already own this, but this is a great price for 3 movies I doubt you will ever see it lower.
@lobo81865:
"I would jump on this one, but if I'm not mistaken the UK version also includes "Hange'm High," so I will wait to buy it instead."
There are, strangely, two UK versions - "The Spaghetti Western Trilogy" which just includes the three Leone films, and the "Clint Eastwood Collection" which, as you say, also includes "Hang 'em High". The prices go up and down, but I managed to get the 4-disc set cheaper than the 3-disc a few weeks ago.
For those of you who don't already own this trilogy, now would be an excellent time to buy it. The current price breaks down to $8 for each of these top-tier spaghetti westerns. These three films are must-haves for all fans of either Sergio Leone or Clint Eastwood.
@ Don Corleone: I would imagine MGM will eventually release Duck You Sucker on Blu. I just don't know when. Keep your hopes up, as the studio has been releasing more and more of its catalog on blu rather frequently.
I already own the trilogy, I bought it when the price was $ 30. I am very unhappy with the transfer on the Good the bad and the ugly, I hope FOX re issue this one, the italian transfer is most impresive. I'm waiting for Bluray.com's review on Once upon a time in the west. So, WHEN?
im really on the fence about this one. i have read bad things about this set. can someone tell me which way i should go on this one? i need a final nudge one way or the other. ugh such a dilemma haha
@Hanxinto: Bill Hunt at the Digital Bits just reviewed "Once Upon a Time in the West" and he raved about it. You can check his review @thedigitalbits.com. It is 6 articles down from the top, dated 5/18, on the home page.
@dwane5, A fistfull of dollars and a few dollars more look more than OK to me, very cinematic, TGTBTU looks terrible though better than DVD. There are some images on the web of the italian remastered TGTBTU and looks TERRIFIC.
@Shultzy, thank you. I've already read that review and I'm enthuasiastic about this release, I just want to see some captures.
